Hi Guys,
I have a canon A540 and I have captured many movies.I am not able to play these in the usual Windows Media Player or other software. Can you tell me what software I should use to play these movies ?

They should play just fine in Windows Media Player. Are you sure they are downloading correctly, and your computer is set up to use WMP as the default? Have you tried to play them on another computer?

As said they should work just fine in Windows.
If anything, try this. This is the top codec pack on the web and will let you play virtually any type of video and audio file on your computer.

Hmmm... my Canon videos (.AVI) always pulls up Quicktime Player, whether using our Windows or Mac machine.
Here's the free link for Quicktime for Windows:

That's simply because your machines are set up to use Quicktime for AVI files. You can make any program the default for any files.

try reinstalling Windows Media player or upgrading to a new version.
As for people using Quicktime or Real player....I would uninstall those pita nagging programs for "Quicktime Alternative" and "Real Player Alternative" which once installed allow you to play those files in WMP.

Hey, call me Dave. I'm just a senior member because I post a lot.
I was just a pan around a room, IIRC.

If I Recall Correctly.
I just made sure it ran, I didn't look at it very closely.
