Anyone have any experience with the Canon TC-DC52 52mm 2.4x Teleconverter Lens? It seems to me that the 2.4x would be a big boost, great for getting in close to things you don't want to disturb, like birds....
Since it's 52mm, will it should work with the 52mm adapter from Lensmate on my S3?
Also, I've read some bad things about the Raynox DCR-2020PRO, but the DCR-1850PRO looks like it would be a good choice. Any experience with it, out there?

I bought it and tried the Canon DC52 with the S3....IT DON'T WORK...hunts and hunts to focus.

Thanks for the news. I'll scratch that off my list of possibles! :)
One last question, can you get it to focus manually?

I have the Sony 1.7x TC and am happy with the focus on it so far. I must admit that I have not used it extensively yet though.

Manual focus will allow you to get a lock but the pics come just terrible...can't quite decribe it...just terrible.

It's a good idea to remember not to get caught up in numbers, but rather thrust what your eyes see there's a teleconverter comparison thread with some good examples of some of the best and woarst lenses to use with the S3 in this section, hth. I should have booked marked it a long time ago. It was around eight months ago.

Yup, I was searching for that thread so I can post the link, but I can't find it :o
IIRC from that thread, anything over 1.7x wasn't worth it.

S3/S2 Zoom Power Comparison 12x vs TC

It was buried 17 pages deep at the bottom you have to tell the search how far back in time you want to see if not those threads will remain hidden.
