A few of the photos I took of Maranda and shared a bit ago were entered into a couple local modeling competitions. I don't know the details but her mom just left a message on my voice mail to say this one won her a trophy and a tiara in the "environmental" category:

Personally I'm not too impressed with myself since her arm looks filthy as hell, but apparently they weren't all that particular about it.

She made it a point to call me though so I guess it meant something to them. Even if that's something like third place out of say 100 girls, it might mean more business my way. :)

Thanks guys but it's really not that big of a deal. I didn't actually win an award myself...Maranda did. I just happened to be the idiot behind the camera capturing the image that helped her win the award.

Either way I'll take any business that comes as a result of it! :D

Thanks Tim & no problem. They were useless to me since I decided not to get the 10D fixed. I'll slap it up on eBay as a parts camera and let it ride. If I get 50 bucks, I get 50 bucks. Better than letting it sit around as a paperweight, and MUCH better than sinking $200 into it.

hey congrats on the award. anything you can put on that resume is good.

as far as rockwell goes....kinda strange guy huh? i've only read a few of his stuff so i don't see why so many people hate him, but he's definitely strange. i read an article on lighting and he used his dogs as subjects for his strobes. i mean seriously, why would you do that? people wanna see what they can actually recognize lighting on...other people. and he didn't recommend speedlites. weird.
