A couple of questions:

Can someone explain the purpose of the teleconverter (TC-DC58B) or wide-angle converter (WC-DC58A) for the S3 IS? How do they affect the photos taken?

Also, how does the High-Power Flash HF-DC1 work? The S3 IS doesn't seem to have anywhere to plug it in, so how does it "know" when to flash?

Teleconverter - increases the focal length of the lens (..more zoom)

Wide angle - decreases the focal length, the field of view is wider, useful for landscapes, group shots etc.

Slave flash senses the cameras flash (or typically anyone elses flash), triggers its own flash..

Thanks for the info and the links!! :)

So if I understand it correctly, it's kind of like the way the digital zoom multiplies the optical zoom, except using the teleconverter is "all optical". The extra lens(es) just sort of start you off already zoomed and the camera zoom can now go "farther" ....
