Hi guys

Felt the need for some extra reach
So picked up a 1.4X TC, this is on a 350 D so effective focal length at 300 mm is 720 mm
I couldnt find any info on this combo, so am posting a couple of shots
AF does work but is very slow in low light
Manual focus is pretty decent
Unusable with out a tripod

Both shots taken at f8, iso 400

What do you guys think of this combo?

Just nit-picking... but it "only" amounts to 672mm :D
What does it look like in full res? How sharp is the combo still?

672 is right, oops :D

Drama,
Nice shots. How's the focus without the TC?
I have to bite soon on either this and a Kenko TC or the 120-300 2.8 and the TC.
I really want the 2.8 but $$$$$$$$

I'm pleasantly surprised, but I guess you are 1-stop down from wide-open.

Without the TC: In good light, its fast & accurate but pretty useless in poorer light
With TC: Pretty much the same, but sharpness is not as good

I pretty much tend to use it at F8 most of the time, will try some f5.6 shots soon & post

I was surprised by the sharpness too, not too bad at all at full stretch
The extra reach is a blessing in crowded city scapes

Thanks CWPhoto :)
I liked the colors & the sharpness on the palm leaves myself
A bit too dark perhaps?

Not from here, perfect. The darkness saturates the colours.
