very nice shots, your mum must be proud. The tree shot is a keeper too.

I really like your shot of the tree but think it would be even stronger with a little cropping. Without any clouds or items of visual interest the sky is just too big an expanse of blue IMO. I'd crop a lot from the top and a little from the right edge of the image.

I have to disagree with you Rich, I think that its a great shot with the sky above the tree, its not your typical crop tight photo :)

Yeah I'm with NewTek, I like how the sky graduates to a deeper hue at the top.
Room for a mast-head too. ;)

The irony is that she would probably be chuffed if a newspaper ran their pictures as part of an editorial piece...

True indeed, its a shame some people have given the net a bad name for these reasons

My brother and his girl are building their new home just infront of those Cypress trees so there will be plenty more pics:p

I also like the tree silhouette, but I would love to see it larger!

I like the silhouette too. It's be a great stock photo with plenty of space for text. As is, I think the empty sky keeps the focus on the tree as the main subject.

Interesting the different way people see things:cool:
i left the space because the tree is always going to be the subject, but the sky gives it some balance and space/position IMO

Not sure why any God should be credited for a photo made by forno  :D but I think it would be a shame to just make a tree silouette, the sun, sky and hazy landscape add a lot to it.
I like the portrait fo your mother s lot, but maybe you should lift the shadow just a tad.
Very nice photos!

i really like the second one forno.
man it's funny how people are weird(no offense) about pictures of their kids on the net...when they'd be fine to have their picture(along with first and last name) in a newspaper.
