I just bought my K100D yesterday, and I've been going through the manual and playing around with the settings. Some of the stuff is obvious, but a fair amount isn't.
I'd be interested to hear from people how have been using this camera for a little while what settings they are using in the Custom and other menus.
Thanks!

I shoot RAW so I can change my mind with most settings after the shot. I start at +2 sharpness and "natural" tone however, in camera.

Thanks, SpecialK.
I was hoping this thread would spark more discussion. I've been shooting RAW as well, so lots of the settings are not very important. But what about the various Custom menu settings, like the OK button during shooting setting, or the digital vs. optical preview, etc?
Thanks!

Custom menu...
All "1"s except AE-l with AF locked, and Preview Method. I don't ever use the preview :-)
I've never used the OK button, but might to check the ISO...
Multi-segment metering, selectable AF point (mostly center unless in a tricky situation), and AF-S.
Hope that helps.

Haven't had mine for that long, but here's what I've ended up so far:
natural color (or whatever it's called, not the default intense)
+1 on saturation
0 on contrast and sharpening
although auto ISO is great, I've set ISO to 400 so I know what will happen when I apply exposure comp.
The camera defaults to center weighted with non Pentax lenses (MF) that I have, which is fine by me. Haven't needed to change the pattern metering otherwise.
Otherwise I haven't done much customization.
