Just a head's up: be careful using telephoto end of zooming with a filter on. Some filters might get hit by camera's lens as you zoom in.
On my A640 with the Canon adapter, I have about 3 out of 9 filters that get touched when I zoom in. It just touches them, but I still risk scratching my filters.
The solution is fairly easy, go buy the cheapest UV filter lens you can find (around $10), pop the glass out, and use the rim as a ~2mm spacer. Typically, there is a retention ring on cheap UV filters that you can pop out and then glass falls right out.

I've only seen this on the A640, but I haven't tested on other models. In my case, the filters just get touched.
You may want to check how close your S3 gets with a filter on, just to be sure.
I tried finding 58mm-to-58mm spacers but no one locally was selling them. Besides, $10 wasn't too much to spend on a UV filter that I toss the glass away for.

Not positive if you are referring to me, but I have been AWOL for while :o
The short answer of where I've been is:
Work has been time consuming and stressful
Have had to deal with some medical issues with my girlfriend. Nothing life-threatening, but time consuming since she doesn't have insurance (8 hours waiting in the emergency room, multiple occasions  ). Medications severely limit what we can do (exhausted/tired all the time, limited sunlight allowed, no exercising or sweating, no drinking, etc)
Working on my DIY ring flash (80% done)
LOT'S of misc chores, tasks, etc at home
Bleh. I'm finally getting out from some of the above stuff... so I'm off to a fun trip at my favorite camera store this morning. :D My girlfriend doesn't want to come along since I spend too much time in there when I go (completely true). I'm picking up some front and back lens covers for my filter stack as well a new camera bag (old one is too small). This should have my camera kit set for a while (in addition to my new tripod with the stablization hook I added to it)
