What do you want a "manual" to tell you about them? All you need to know is that you do not use the aperture ring and keep that at the smallest setting/biggest number.

The 35mm f 2 is a nice lens, a "standard prime" for your camera. The 28mm f2.8 is not as useful to most, but can be nice to have anyway.

thats what i wanted to know. When i first put the lens on the D80 it was flashing error. Then i flicked a switch on the lens (which corresponds in colour to F22) and then it worked fine. why do i have to do that?

thanks

The f-stop is controlled by the camera if you have the lens locked at the smallest aperture. I think most of the communication - camera and lens - is dependent on this.
