View Full Version : Can You Overide Canon File Naming Convention?

I have a Canon G3 that I have taken about 3,500 pictures with, using the standard naming convention of IMG_001, etc. I keep all of my pictures in a folder on my hard drive and manage them with Photools' IMatch program.

I just bought my wife a Canon S60 and myself a Canon G6 camera. It appears that they too will name the files exactly the same thing as my G3 camera did. Is there any easy way around this? I don't want to have to rename every single image before adding it to my database. Even if I could just start one camera at, say, IMG_10001 and the other one at IMG_20001, that would work fine.

Does anyone know how I might accomplish this?

Thanks!
