It looks like Canon is now releasing their 6D. It's quite a step up from the 5D.

Briefly it has the following upgrades:

1. 18mp sensor
2. In-body IS with dust reduction
3. Switchable (there's a soft switch on the body) between normal, IR and UV sensitivity.

They say it should be available sometime next month.

Now if there was such a camera, you'd be first in line. Admit it!

I'm broke. Besides, I'd have to get another computer even sooner to handle such huge files.

I stuck with 3mp compact digitals because I didn't figure bigger files were worthwhile for somebody that printed to 10x8 or A4 and never bigger.

With my dSLRs I seem to be sticking to 8mp - partly because I don't see the need for bigger images -even when selling them - but also because of the limited quantity one can put on a single DVD.

One of the best things the memory card manufacturers could do would be to make 4.7GB CF cards :D

The 4MP of the 1D produced a spectacular 8x10 of Maranda last night. I was going to see what an 11x14 looks like but I didn't feel like bustin' out the roll paper for just one image. Based on the 8x10, the 11x14 will look great too.
