Hey there:

This is my first post, and I need help. I need (want) a top loading Camera holster type bag. I need it for a Canon DSLR the model 30D and would like to keep the 70-300 zoom lens on it in the bag. I see plenty of holsters I really like, ordered one, and it didn't even come close to fitting this 30D and by the way, I have the BG-2E grip on it, also.

Looks like the Tamrac 519 Pro Zoom may be the ticket, but hate to buy it, and find out the hard way it doesn't fit.

I have been a "lurker" on here, and I really like this forum. Thanks to all, and the best to everyone.

Bob, "Robocameras" (usually SLRs with Battery Grips and long lenses) are usually best fitted in the store. But on the net, they should give you some indication of what that particular holster should hold, at least stated in the maximum length of lens (hood reversed on lens).
But (big BUT), from my personal experience, you do not want a "Robocamera" riding on your hip very long (forty minutes or less).
