* $300

Size

* Ultra-Compact. Something that can fit in my jean pockets comfortably.

Feature

* How important is “image quality” to you? (Rate using a scale of 1-10)

8-9. I am not Ansel Adams, but I want my pics to look good.

Do you care for manual controls?
Not really with my old camera, I primarily let the autofocus do its job

General Usage

* What will you generally use the camera for?

Taking photos while I am out with my friends.

* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not?
Unlikely

Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos?
Yes

Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos?
Yes

Miscellaneous

Are there particular brands you like or hate?
I am not a big Sony fan


Are there particular models you already have in mind?
Nikon s200 or Nikon s50 but I am not sure I want to wait for those models to come out.

(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD)
Image Stablilization is a must!

The Nikon's are not known for there low light prefromance and the s200 dosen't have IS(your must have)...I would look at the Canon elph 700IS. Of course the Fuji's are the best low light cameras but lack the IS and use X-D memory

That's a new camera in about your price range. I have the earlier FX50, and I love it. In fact, the FX50 has a 3" screen as well, and is very easy to slip into a pocket. I'm never without it! Check out my FX50 Gallery (http://john-reed.smugmug.com/gallery/2139027) - all the shots there were handheld, some in very low light, some not. You should be able to do at least as well with the improved FX30.
