* What budget have you allocated for buying this camera? Please be as specific as possible. No more than $600.00

Size

* What size camera are you looking for? Or does size not matter at all to you?
Size does not really matter.

Features

How many megapixels will suffice for you? 7.1 or higher

* What optical zoom will you need? (None, Standard = 3x-4x, Ultrazoom = 10x-12x, Other - Specify) 10x-12x

* How important is “image quality” to you? (Rate using a scale of 1-10) 9-10

Do you care for manual controls? unknown

General Usage

* What will you generally use the camera for? Pictures of my daughter, sporting events, outside and inside

* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not? possibly, most likely 8x10

Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos? yes

Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos? yes

Miscellaneous

Are there particular brands you like or hate? I have a Fuji now ( Finepix A303)

Are there particular models you already have in mind?Sony H5 and Fuji 9100

(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD) Image Stabilization

Can anyone give me an idea of what would be the best camera for the money for me or can anyone suggest a better camera. I am pretty new to this and want to get the best camera that I can and something that will last for a long while. Please help me.

The Fuji S9100 could be a good choice for you, but since you say you'll be wanting to take indoor sport action pictures, you might find the S6000FD slightly better. It has slightly better high ISO sensitivity, which could make it it easier to use fast shutter speeds to freeze motion in low light. Since you're only talking of making 10x8" prints, its 6 Megapixels should be sufficient. However, you would miss out on the S9100's additional features, such as the hotshoe and improved controls.
