I currently have a panasonic fz-7. I am by no means a pro and really don't take many pictures. But I am looking for something smaller, pocketable, to take on a cruise. I am also hoping that something smaller I will keep on me more to take more pictures.

Price: $300 or less

Size: Pocketable, or smaller then the fz-7

Features: Not really looking for anything in particular, though image quality is at least an 8. I do not believe I will be making prints larger then 4x6 though if I do ever print at all.

Useage: All around general useage. Hoping that a smaller camera will allow me to keep it on me more to get some more shots.

Misc: I am not particular to any brands. The only camera I have really looked at is the Panasonic TZ1, mainly for the longer zoom... though that isn't a necessary feature.

Thanks,
Flak

The TZ1 is on closeout in many retail stores (Circuit City $199, Radioshack $179, Costco $189), that may sway your decision. If you are happy with the IQ from your FZ7, then you would like it for sure and can use your existing memory cards. Amazon has some good prices on Fuji's, check the F20 or F30 for low light specialists.

The extra zoom on the TZ may come in handy on vacation for sure.
