i'm looking for a digital camera to use at concerts, so most of the pictures will be in low light and will need to be taken pretty quickly. also it will need to be able to fit in my pocket so nothing really huge.

also i would like to be able to print them of 2 to a side of A4 at a decent quality.

i have a budget of around $400, what should i get?

Cheers

Fuji F30 is good for low light but only has 3x zoom. An ultrazoom like Kodak Z712, Pan FZ8, or Sony H7 may be better.

From what you've said, I'm assuming that the pictures you take will most probably be of moving individuals in low light. If I understand right, you'll want to minimize movement blur, by probably using a high shutter speed, yet take the image using low light. You'll need a high ISO in order to do this. Fuji cams are reputedly the best in low light, being able to go to high ISO values yet retain decent image quality.

Any of the Fuji F series cameras will do: F20, F30, F31FD, and F40FD. I would say the best value from the bunch is the F20 and F30, depending on whether or not you need the manual controls.

All the above cameras have zoom up to 3X, and they are more or less pocket sized. If you want something with more zoom, you will have to sacrifice on size, as none of Fuji's ultrazooms (up to 10x) cams are really pocket-sized. Still, a relatively smaller ultrazoom cam from Fuji will be released at the end of this month; the S5700. There are no reviews for this cam yet, so wait till some come out before buying. There is also the S6500FD, which is a relatively well proven cam but bigger.
