Hello
I sort of asked about this in my post to the dSLR room but I'll try to make it more specific here.

I'm looking at moving from a Panasonic Lumix FZ7 to a dSLR. I haven't compared them in person (a task for the near future), but plan to make my purchase round about June. There isn't a review for the Fuji on the site yet - has anyone used one that can offer an opinion on it versus:
Nikon D80
Canon EOS 30D / 5D
Pentax K10D

These are my top 4 choices so far. I'm completely new to dSLR, comletely new to lenses. All my previous digital experience has been with mega-optical zoom camera's: Olympus CZ100, Panasonic Lumix FZ20, Panasonic Lumix FZ7.

Here's the actual questionnaire replies:
=============================
Budget

* What budget have you allocated for buying this camera? Please be as specific as possible.
Up to $2000, preferably with a lens for that price!

Size

* What size camera are you looking for? Or does size not matter at all to you?
Does not matter

Features

How many megapixels will suffice for you? Prefer upwards of 8, more like 10 or 12 so that I don't have to upgrade as quickly

* What optical zoom will you need? (None, Standard = 3x-4x, Ultrazoom = 10x-12x, Other - Specify) I'd love zoom, but if I can get it with a lens, it doesn't matter

* How important is “image quality” to you? (Rate using a scale of 1-10) 10

Do you care for manual controls? I like the manual focus on the FZ20, but I've always used auto .... I'd love to learn to use the manual, but either/or.

General Usage

* What will you generally use the camera for?
Daily shooting - mostly outdoor scenic, some indoor still life

* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not?
Hopefully .... yes

Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos?
Not a lot, but maybe some

Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos?
Nope

Miscellaneous

Are there particular brands you like or hate? No

Are there particular models you already have in mind? See above

(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD)
Weatherproof, Image Stabilization are preferred. Hotshoe would be nice but not a necessity

Thanks
-Tiffany

Go look around on some european websites. They've already got them for sale over there. From what I've heard, they are pretty freakin' awesome. I've briefly used a friends D200 and it was A++. I can only assume the fuji has the same great feel with better guts in it.
