what speed SD card for sd300 [Archive] - Digital Camera Resource Page Forums

Hello

I have freezed my descision to buy an ultra compact on SD300 . Now need to find a suitable SD card. I think of buying a 512 MB.But I am wondering about how much speed for an SD card is good enough for the camera's video modes,as well as continous shots. The speed on the scandisk ultra 2 is 10MB/s. Is that sufficient for SD300 ? Looking forward for some advice/answers.

I recently bought the SD200 and also had some trouble deciding on an SD card. I went with the Sandisk 512 ultra II also and I have had no problems, especially in movie mode. Most of the others were around 2mb/s so the 10mb/s seemed like an easy trade for 20 bucks more. I have heard that the slower cards work well but only if taking shorter movies? Something about the card having to "catch up." At the very least the II will work much better in fast frame rate (60 fps). Hope this helps!
