Fuji Finepix 9.0MP Digital Camera S9600

I bought this cam the other day, it arrived today. The camera won't turn on, the batteries are all in correctly but it won't even turn on!

Am I doing something wrong?

try using another sets of batteries. bought my s9600 last week and i'm still practicing how to used it properly. hope someone can share how to used this camera for class picture and graduation ceremonies. any ideas what model to used for external flash?

Assuming that the 9600 isn't that different to the 9500, it is capable of very good photos. The camera takes any non-dedicated flash. I use an old Vivitar 283 but there can be trigger voltage problems with some of them. Metz do a non-dedicated gun that might be worth a look.
