Hey Guys I've got a few questions and was hoping I could get some help.

I bought a Nikon D50 not too long ago for my first Digital SLR and I've goten great use out of it, some good photos.

I do a lot os portraits and skateboarding photography.

As I'm getting more into the skatboardng aspect Im finding I need off camera flashes to get things done right.

The D50 can be used with Nikons Strobe Flashes off camera with a hot shoe only.

I was wondering if maybe I should trade in my D50 which I just got for maybe a d70 or d70s or If I should of got that camera to beging with.

The D70 can fire Nikons Strobe Flash Wirelessly for free usinng the onboard flash to trigger a SB-600 or SB-800.

I wondering If I should trade in the D50 get and get a Strobe Flash.

But I was also wondering if there was anyother Strobe Flash option I would like to use multible Nikon Flashes or anyother brand maybe say 2, Im wondering how to properly fire them with the D50, if they can be or with the D70.

So I just wanted some help with what to buy to get off cmaera flash, say two of them and fire them properly.

any help is very apprectaited, thank you all!

One cheap alternative is the radio trigger. I got one just recently from a place on ebay called "Link Delight" in Hong Kong, and thusfar it seems to work fine for my purposes (product photography). It costs about $30 counting shipping.

I should point out that this is a rock-bottom alternative to the much more expensive Pocket Wizard, so don't expect miracles. MIne arrived without any instructions. When I first mounted the sender, it would flash via the test button, but not via the shutter. There must've been some problems with the flash mount seating, since after taking it off and putting it back on it works now.

The ebay link I used is HERE (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200086309605&ssPageName=MERC_VIC_RUPX_Pr4_PcY_BIN_Stores_IT&refitem=200083054683&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=closed_view_item&usedrule1=UpSell_LogicX&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget).

Well thank you for that, It seems like a decent alternative Im just wondering if it will work for a decent period of time, and If Im going to have problems setting it up.

click (http://cgi.ebay.com/2-receivers-wireless-Remote-Flash-Trigger-CANON-NIKON_W0QQitemZ170089706253QQcategoryZ30087QQssPag eNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting) this seems like a choice to use with two flashes I'm just wondering if they work that great and will be that difficult to set up.

I was also thinking If I purchased a D70 and used its Flash to trigger a SB-800 which it can do for free, but also the SB-800 works for as a Trigger for the SB-600, so maybe that could work?

Your D50 can fire the SB800 flash by the onboard camera flash. The SB800 can act as the commander for other flashes providing it is attached to the D50. The D70(s) both have the commander built in the camera and you can control the SB600/SB800 off camera using your camera. Not sure about the SB400 but I think you could also control them as well. You can buy a commander for you D50 to control off camera flashes, but at the cost of that I would suggest the SB800 instead. In order to utilize the Nikon CLS system you have to have some type of commander to work with, either in camera, SB800 flash or a commander attachment such as a SU800.

Thanks, thats a bit pricey. I'm just trying to find some means of off camera flash, 2 flashes, maybe triggerd by radio, whateevr it may be. Ebay slaves triggerd by this that, I dont know! I have no clue I just want a cheap way to have 2 off camera flashes, and fire them from my D50. I sound like such an ammature, well I am. hah.

As I said before, using either two radio triggers, or one radio trigger + an optical trigger, is probably your cheapest alternative. Since this topic has come up, I've decided to repost here a recent quickie review (http://www.dcresource.com/forums/showthread.php?p=206238#post206238) I did of my radio trigger on another forum. HTH.
