Need Help Deciding

Hello,
I've been looking online at digital cameras for several weeks now. trying to decide which one is best for me. Just for reference i'll add that I'm 17, currently in highschool, and fairly new to digital camera's, not completely tho. Here are the features i've been looking for

350-500$
Compact Design, smaller the better
4-5mp if possible
large LCD screen
sleek design, yes i'm vain =/

After looking around I found the very sleek and stylish Sony Cybershot-T1 fit the profile. However, I had a few small concerns with the T1 i wanted to clear up before purchasing. Here they are.

Red Eye? I will mainly use during the day, will this be a problem?
No View Finder. I am new to digital camera's, so I dont think this will be that bad
LCD backlight. I wont use much at night, will it be impossible if I decide 2 tho?

Red eye is due to using flash. It does not matter if it is day or not, if you use flash, it can happen. On the other hand, if it is daytime, a subject's pupils are most likely smaller, and this will help to minimize redeye.

LCD backlight. I wont use much at night, will it be impossible if I decide 2 tho?

It might be, if there is no light on the subject.
