try this http://www.pinoy7.com/psptutorials/9/colorize/p1.shtml

I use CS2 so I don't know how this works. I just Googled for Paint Shop Pro tutorials and found this on the 2nd or 3rd try.

thanks for the link i will check it out. i did some searching online myself and all the tutorials were mostly for PSP X or PSP 8...i couldn't ever find something for PSP 9. grr.

i wish i could get my hands on photoshop, but its a little pricey :( maybe one day i'll get my hands on a copy

You should still be able to adapt the tutorial to your version. It may not be the exact steps, but you should be able to figure it out.

I know what you mean on PS and $$. I bought into it years ago (PS4) so all I pay is the upgrade prices which is still around $160. I've heard a lot of good things about PSP and I know a lot of people use it.

Oh Yee of little faith.
I've had PSP for 5-6 yrs but have stayed at version 9 because I hear so much bad press on X & XI. It is a fab program for me anyway. But one day after several expert PS friends said that if I didn't at least have Elements then I wasn't getting the "Best I Could".
Being the lemming I occasionally am, I bought PSE 4 and spent a lot of time learning the ins and outs - and also rebooting after way too many crashes. Frankly I found it an annoying program but that could be because I am so used to the other. I took pictures and geeked around with both programs and really couldn't see what the buzz was for. They are a lot alike and will probably continue to duke it out - which is a good thing. You know what they say about it not being good only having one restaurant in town. Folks get lazy without competition.
In the end I gave PSE4 to a friend who thinks its the cats pajamas. And I am back happily using PSP.
