I've read lots of reviews on this site and others and they all seem to rate the 5500 with good speed and video features while the Canon's have better picture quality.
I'm hoping to find a digital camera under $500 to replace my Canon 35MM Rebel (which I love but I need to be digital and can't afford the DRebel) and it would be nice to have 30fps video to replace my Hi8 tape camcorder (I only take quick clips with that anyway).
I take mostly pictures of my kids and often inside with low light so AF assist is important to me. Also since the kids move fast I need a fast camera in terms of shot to shot and shutter lag. But above all, I want to get the same photo quality that I get with my 35mm Rebel.
I'm leaning towards the Fuji since it seems to provide an attractive combination of speed and video but I'm concerned about the picture quality. I rarely enlarge beyond a 5x7.....will I notice the quality difference between the Fuji and the Canon?
