Hi all,
I've been trying to decide what camera to buy for about a month now and I finally decided on the Pana FZ3, having discounted the Canon S1 and Pana FZ10/20 as being too big for travelling with.
The problem is that here in Japan its gonna set me back about 460 USD.
I'd kinda decided that I was gonna bite the bullet and buy iy but yesterday I visited my friend on a military base and saw that they have the 6mp casio EX-P600 for only $420! In Japanese stores this camera is about $720!
I've had a play with it and it does seem to be avery nice camera. I am a beginner and it has about 25 'best shot' settings (such as fireworks, children, candle light etc...) which are great because I don't know yet how to set up a camera for these environments. However, it has some nice manual settings and will give me a lot of room to grow as my skill level increases. Its also smaller and faster than the Pana which is good for taking it on vacation (which is one of the reasons I'm buying a camera).
The Pana has got a nicer f2.8 lense and better zoom but I could always add a telephoto lense to the casio at a later date if I needed.
This comparison is a bit unusual because usually the Pana is cheaper and the Casio more expensive.
My question is, at this price which one to go for?
Anyone got any experience with the Casio?
