S3 vs SP-550

I was going to buy the Canon S3 IS. But now when I see the specs and price on the new SP-550, it seems to outclass the S3 pretty much and it doesn't cost much more.

Does the S3 have any advantages at all?


I hate buying cameras, there's too many of them.

The Olympus compact digitals have not excelled in one important area lately: Image quality. You my guess is that the S3 IS will beat it in that area hand down.

In case you are unsure, it may be worthwhile to wait till Jeff Keller has finished the review of the SP550.

Go for the S3 unless you wanna wait and pick up a DSC H7 or H9.

I just saw some pictures from an S2 posted by Scupking on another thread....and I'm very close to making my decision now. Amazing pics.
