I took some photo's today with my new lens and had noticed the threads were plastic. Are they all like that?? That concerns me, if a person uses it heavily and is removing it alot they will wear out quick.

Hear are some pictures from today.

I wouldn't worry too much about those threads. I've had my TCON-17 for ~3.5 years, used it with FZ1, FZ10, FZ15 & FZ30, screwed it and unscrewed it a whole lot of times. Be careful, don't cross-thread it, don't overtighten, the threads will last.

Hi, congratulations on the new lens. No, some are made of metal (TCON-14B, WCON-08B, MCON-35). You can usually tell by the weight if holding two similar size lenses. If you are like me and no camera stores near by, read the reviews. The better reviews will tell you a lot about the lenses and how they compare to the others.

I just got mine last week. I tried a teleconverter on an olympus and it was a disaster. Basically couldn't see anything through the viewfinder with it on.
I am pleased with this one on my FZ-50.

attached is a Flicker on 8mp then cropped 50%

Find the step up ring/adapter that works and leave it on, like here:

2-piece Phayee adapter (62mm section), step-up ring, T-Con, 77mm UV (no glass) epoxied onto T-Con, 3" lens hood.
The assembly screws directly to FZ20.
The front of the lens hood is threaded (77mm filter).
