Hi, this may seem like a dumb question but i have gotten no clear answer from my peers.

When storing your LENSES in a camera AW Bag, is it best to place them in the bag:

1) Front Lenses facing Down
2) Camera contacts Facing down

I have just bought a very expensive "EF 70-300mm IS" lenses that I value like my life, and I do not wish to damage it by any means, so im worried that placing the front facing down and the contacts facing up may damage them when I put the bag on the ground

won't it depend on the bag being flipped or not? ;) :D actually, as long as both caps are on, and the bag is built to hold lenses and gear, it shouldn't matter. not in my experience anyway.

i do put them front glass down so i can easily get to the rear cap needed to cover the lens that comes off the body.

It doesn't matter how you store it in your bag- just don't drop the bag from high elevations;)

I put the lenses in my bag however they fit best. There is no right or wrong if you have the caps on.

I agree, front glass down makes it a lot easier to grab and take the rear lens cap off quickly. But when all is said and done, 6 of one half dozen of the other!

I'm a front down guy for ease of swaping lenses. But if this was truly important there would be big warnings on the box and lens itself (at least in the US where some class action lawsuit would have required them). Or the warranty would void if stored incorrectly.

Haha, how true it is. Or a company would have marketed a special bag in which you could store your lens either glass or contact points down. Wow!

...... it depends on the shape of your bag & the size of the lenses. Now don't give me shit here guys as mine are way smaller than CW's but I do have trouble fitting the glass into the 'big bag' as a carry around but honestly I couldn't care 2 hoots who came last in the WSBK at Phillip Island or for that matter which way my lens is pointing when not on my camera.
