If I had to suffer with just a little noise in my shots ... yeah, this would qualify.

At ISO-6400, this is most impressive and makes me rethink the kind of photography you could do with this level of sensitivity ... and mounting that 50mm f/1.0 lens.

Wink wink nudge nudge. The $9000 shot!

Well, not wow at all! What a crap photo :D ;)

But yes, that ISO 6400 noise is indeed quite impressive!

But I would not want to use it though, it seems to have a real lack of contrast that you also see in some other cameras with high ISO settings, and it does not look at all like what a 5D does in ISO 3200. Not the dymanic range, not the contrast... all in all quite a dull result. Or better: flat.

I understand that for snapshots it will be a nice solution, this ISO 6400 quality, but for a serious camera for professional results, I can not say this ISO 6400 will be a success, based on this one photo.

Don't get me wrong and jump all over me, for ISO 6400 the noise is pretty impressive. As for pure image quality I am just not all that happy. And I can not really see a real professional use of it. I can't wait to see its ISO1600 performance though!

I'm not impressed with the M3 at all. Nikon's can produce that type of noise at ISO 800- that's a hell of a lot more efficient;)
- Go green, shoot Nikon.

Bodies come and go ... just ask Anna Nicole ... but good glass is forever ... just as Elizabeth ... with her diamonds.

Go glass and when you are ready to really top it off ... get the rig. Good plan! :D

I'd say that 6400 is quite "usefull" for PJ stuff and maybe some hard to get sports stuff.

You know what they say, a crappy photo is better then no photo in PJ world.

This is about as far off-topic as I'd ever want to get. Good lord, guys, get a grip!

I admit, this camera is just a bit more than pricey, but it's not drivin' me crazy. ISO-6400 coupled with IS should just about freeze the world at 1/20th of sec. Perhaps you could snap a shot of old Anna Nicole and deep freeze her for posterior. LOL ... leave 'em be.
