Trying to choose a Ultra Compact Camera for my family. Mostly Point and shoot pictures of the family. I am down to the Konica Minolta X50 or the Canon SD300. Not too concerned over Megapixels, but more importantly Picture Quality and overall flexibility. Trying to figure out which of the two is going to provide the most flexibility in different environments, ease of use and the best picture quality!!

I came down to these based on all the Online site reviews, as well as, overall value.

The Sony T-1 seems too expensive for what I gather not much difference.

Big task!! Thanks for the guidance!

If you realllly aren't too concerned about megapixels perhaps you should consider the SD 200...3.2 instead of the 4.0 offered by the sd300, but the same movie modes, size, canon quality, etc..The Digic II processor in the sd series also makes viewing/multiple shots very managable, and the menus are easily navigated as well....the picture quality is negligible, if only printing 5X7 and 4X6 then you can save the extra $100 and buy a high capacity SD card. Can't say that I know too much about the Minolta, but I am a very satisfied sd200 owner. Hope this helps!

I am facing the same decision. I tested the X50 against the S410. The S410 blew away the X50 for speed (little shutter lag) which is important for shooting kids. Add in that the S410 is slower than the SD300 and I am leaning that way.
