My dilema is this: I want one camera for my wife and me. She has come from point-and-shoot, I from SLR, Canon EOS 600. Her prioirities are: easy of use, adaptability, picture quality and capacity, battery life, size etc, I would obviously like something similar to my old SLR. Given this situation which of the two cameras above would you go for if: a) you ignored price and b)considered price?

Or is there an obvious other camera I should consider?

Thanks for your help

i think both are capable of fine point and shoot results. the scales may be tipped for the a95 if you like using AA batteries though... especially if you don't need the larger image size provided by the g6's 7.1 megapixels.

if you were really interested in something more slr-like i think actually getting a digital SLR may be better choice (and you'd have more money left over to buy it with if you get the a95 :p ). i have a g6 and i suppose people say it's slr-like because it's a bit larger and has more controls, but it's still very much a fixed lens camera, and the way it operates isn't so different from the a95.

Thanks for the info.

I have now expanded my search to the s70, as a half way house between the two. Any thoughts on that?
