I'm looking for recommendations on a PnS camera that starts up fast (1 or 2 seconds until I can take my first photo) and then takes photos as fast as I can compose them (again 1 or 2 seconds apart) without being Continual mode.
I'd like to keep the price under $500.
I'd like 8 megapixel or bigger.
Image quality is important (8 or more out of 10)
I need a camera that excels in low light conditions (indoors).
Manfucturer isn't important, although I do like Canon, Sony, Nikon
Yes I'd like to print the occasional 8X10 or maybe even 11x17 pictures someday!
I'd like minimum of 4x optical zoom, althought the more the merrier.
Size isn't all that important - if I'm in a place where transporting a somewhat bigger camera is an inconvience I'll just use my phone camera. :)
I'm trying to avoid getting an SLR camera, but not sure there is a PnS camera out there that is fast enough shot to shot to prevent me from missing photo opportunities like I have so often in the past!
