still baffled!!!

Hi folks,I recently asked for help in choosing a camera.Models available to me wre Olympus,Fuji,Samsung,Sony,Konica(minolta),Pentax and Nikon.Ineed something that`ll take good landscapes,action shots,moving shots(kids running,swimming moving water),general snaps etc.My budget is up tp £400.I looked at the olympus c-60z but some people seem to hate it while others love it.I want a zoom lens,good rate megepixels,reliable,with the ability to get better/bigger memory cards and batteries.It`s a christmas gift and also a 1st digiral camera,he still uses a cannon slr but wants this for convenience and to print off his own shots.If I buy the c-60z am I buying a good camera that will provide all I`m lookin for or not.PLEASE ADVISE as christmas is gettin to close to be in this dilemma.
