I am looking to buy a 1 GB SD card, but I don't know which one to buy. The SanDisk Ultra 2 Secure Digital Card says that it operates up to 10MB/s, but what speed does the less expensive SanDisk Secure Digital Card operate at? I can not find this fact out. Is it really worth the extra $15 to get the SanDisk Ultra 2 Secure Digital Card?
Thanks.

Depends on your camera. Most all-in-one cameras can only transfer data internally (buffer to flash card) at less than 2MB/s (max). So in-camera speed is limited to about 15X to 20X. This is only important when shooting in continuous mode or when the camera has 640 x 480 @ 30fps movie mode.
The primary advantage of high speed flash cards (when employed in all-in-one's) comes with the use of USB 2.0 High Speed card readers in conjuction with a computer having USB 2.0 High Speed ports. USB HS can theoretically transfer data at 60MB/s.
So if work flow is important to you the extra $15 should be as well. If not, then use standard or lower speed 16X to 24X cards.
For a 1GB card I would spend the extra $15, just for the download speed.
