yesterday we had 40mph winds with gusts up to 60...so dust ended up coating the sky. the white balance is probably off in alot of the pictures, but the sky really was orange so it's a tough call...and i didn't use a gray card so it's all by ear on this one.

thanks guys. i had fun..other than getting caked with dust. and was very surprised i didn't get a lot of flare since i had my uv filter on. i added the vignette. all of these were shot with the 24-70 f2.8L

That was one weird Saturday. I came out and thought, "what's the heck is going on". Everything was orange. Thanks for sharing. I like the one with the dog.

Good ones, but I like the last shot from the first batch best (trees sihouette).

Great pictures. My favorite are the silhouetted trees and the wind-blown dog. :) The ones with the water fountains show a lot of good action too. I live a little east of you and we had the wind, but fortunately not the dust in the air...ugh!

Hopefully, all that dust is heading out to sea. I'd hate to clean my sensor after that! :(
We still have snow coming down, in Chicago. Guess Rich in New York and CDI are in for it, next!
What a month it has been ... Mr. Ground Hog. "Early Spring!" ... I think not.
People won't even come out for the indoor shoots. The icy surfaces have been a real party to deal with. Here's a memorable shot I got in my e-mail ...

"Shovels at the ready!"
There was a town out there ... somewhere to the left.

I don't miss the snow in NY. It was high 70's and dry here in Fl. :p
Definitely creepy atmosphere in those pics. Poor dog looks like someone left out there in the middle of a hurricane.
