I have a Pentax Optio 30 and it seems to have died. We were using it and accidentally bumped the battery door and the batteries fell out while the power was on. Now the camera is effectively dead, with the lens extended. It will not power up no matter what I have tried....new batteries, holding the power button, various button combinations, etc. Does anyone know if there is some sort of powerup option that is necessary in this circumstance, or if it is likely that something got fried when the batteries dropped out? Is there a way to resurrect my camera or is it doomed?

Thanks!

Hi
I don't know your camera. But most cameras' battery door have hidden contact that doesn't let the camera work with open door. Maybe this contact is jammed? Or maybe a metal lamina inside battery door, holding and connecting battery, is bent and batteries have no connection?
Have you tried to turn your camera on, connected to power supply instead of batteries?

hi, you could try removing the SD card before you try and power it up again, worked for me!
