I just bought a new Canon 20D. I took some pictures to test it out. Everything was fine until i looked at the pictures on the LCD and then with Photoshop. The grass looks green but there are other colors (purple, red and blue)blurrying off in the green which obviously shouldn't be there. Is there a problem with my sensor or is this a lense problem?

My lens is a 18-55mm Canon. I just bought my camera about a month ago. Im not sure if this a defective issue or perhaps something im not doing right. Has anyone come across this problem before? can you please give me some pointers as to what i should perhaps do? Any advice would be much appreciated

sounds like the sensor has failed
might be appropriate to post an image to check

good luck

Well no, it does not at all sound like a "sensor that has failed".

Just post a cropped image to show what you are seeing, are you just seeing a few pixels wide of colour bleeding into other colours?

Some color fringing "may" be expected if the picture is blown-up to show the individual pixels. But it should be virtually invisible when the picture is viewed at normal zoom.

Without a picture it's really hard to troubleshoot your problem. It's very possible you have crappy lens syndrome and that's just chromatic aberration (purple fringing) but it's also possible the sensor is crapped up. I can't see to what extent the imperfections affect the photo. Post a pic so we can see what you're looking at in order to better diagnose the problem.
