2800 Zoom error

Hi, I know, it's an old camera, but I love it! I've had the odd 'zoom error' message in the past, but off/on cured it. This time it WON'T! I HAVE read that on some other Fuji's, people have eased the lens out, turned it a fraction (clockwise?), and it's cured it. Can anyone give me any help on this please? I don't want to scrap the camera, but they want £50 just to LOOK at it! Thanks. Les

Well what I know is what you already stated. You can fix the zoom error by turning the lens barrel until it clicks but that is about all I know since I have not tried this myself. I would google "2800 zoom error" and see what pops up.

Hi PS,
thanks for that, I already DID Google 'zoom error' - that's how I came to be on this site! Am girding myself to try this 'twist' thing, but just waiting to see if any more comments/help before I do the deed!
