Ordered my S6K today...should be here next week. Can't wait. I love the enthusiasm and candid remarks posted on this forum. I used SLR when in the Navy decades ago, and somehow got away from photography. I am upgrading from a Nikon Coolpix 4800 that has served me well, but I feel the need for something a bit more adventurous and challenging. Keep up the great posts..
hopefully soon I'll be able to contribute a few of my own. PS. It was because of this forum, it's members, comments and candid nature that pushed me over the edge to the S6K. :)

Hey Vern (may I call you Vern for short?) :) .
It always makes me crack a smile when I read a post like yours. Frankly, you can only take so much away from the reviews of cameras online (albeit Jeff's reviews here at DCR are my favorite, especially because he does a perfect job outlining that there is always going to be people that each camera will work for and those who it won't, rarely outright calling a camera a total failure like many review sites) but I, like you, was also convinced I was making the right purchase after getting real world feedback from the friendly people around the boards. It sure feels a lot more warm & reassuring seeing beautiful pictures of Paul's (P_Schneider) many scenic shots (and hear his excellent tips), core!'s recent trip to the temple (not to mention his heroics when his daughter found a bee in her room), Cozmo's & Ray999's excellent eye for portraiture, and all the other s6K members pictures versus seeing another GretagMacbeth color chart.
I'm sure I probably don't need to link you to our s6k picture thread, but just in case (http://dcresource.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26764), make sure you post some pics and impressions when you get a chance!
Excellent to have you aboard.
