I recently got a D70 and am starting to really enjoy it.
I read in a posting about the 'custom curve' . Can't find this feature in the manual. What is it all about, custom settings? Thx.
It enables custom contrasts to be automatically applied to jpg files.
If you shoot RAW then they're a waste of time, but if you shoot jpg and want to minimise post processing then they can be useful.
They're loaded through 'Nikon Capture' and applied through the in-camera custom settings.

I don't think they are a waste of time in RAW, but I wasn't really happy with my D70 output until I started using the White Wedding custom curve all the time... it really improves the look of the picture.

Thanks. I will try this curve. Understand how it works now.

Go to http://members.aol.com/bhaber/D70/ and check out his commentary/instructions on curves.
He shows you step by step how to install one and what it does.
