what is the best canon digital camera?

i'm tryin to figure out which canon camera to purchase..and i don't know alot about any of them. what in your opinion is the best quality camera?

The best ultra compact Canon is the SD900.
The best ultra compact Canon with IS is the SD700 IS
The best ultra compact Canon with IS and 28mm wideangle is the SD800 IS.
The best midsize Canon is the A6X0, or G7, or A710 IS.
The best compact Canon with wide angle 28mm is the S80.
The best ultrazoom Canon is the S3 IS.

You see... a lot depends on what you want the camera to be. Metal? Can it be plastic? Does it need to be ultra compact pocket size? Or does it need to have a big tele reach? Does it need to fit in a certain budget?

Different wishes make for different cameras being the best for you.

No one camera is the "best" in all respects. You need to ask yourself "best in what" or "best in doing what?".

To me it has to be the S3 just because of how much it can do. It has almost no focal limit from 0-inches to 12X zoom.

You have your regular run of the mill Power shots SD300 or 400 preferably thats the standard if you're not going to do anything major and very detailed like.

You all forget the Canon Pro1, it´s a bit oldy nowadays and thus difficult to get but with that lens and with that sensor it´s the best Canon regarding IQ
