Ive seen them in lots of places but Ive never used one! Anybody here used on of those tripods that cling to almost anything?

Personally, its a really great little gadget. Haven't had many problems with it, but I don't use it as much as I thought I would.

I intended to use mine as a traditional tri-pod as well as one that I could use to attach a camera to odd surfaces. Once I connected a camera to it and set the tripod on the table and stood back from it I noticed the camera was wobbling. It was the kind of wobble that looked like it could have sustained itself on its own momentum forever. I touched it lightly several times to keep it from wobbling and adjusted it somewhat. For that reason I've virtually ruled out the possibility as using it as a traditional tripod. Instead I intend to wrap it around my wrist and operate the camera with the other hand. It provides a bit more stability than just shooting free-style if I've had too much coffee. I've since bought a mini tripod (Giotto Ball.Pod) that I'm really in love with.

I've got their largest pod and found it worked well to support my 30D on the back of church pews to take some long exposure shots.
