My Sony DSC T30 arrived today and I am working on the settings. (Yes, the battery has been fully charged.)
I have a 2 gig Memory Stick because I want to set the camera to expose for FINE images for if and when I decide to print them. The max size I will probably print at is 8" x 10".
QUESTION: Therefore, what do I select: 7M? 5M? 3M? I selected 5M but maybe I should have chosen 7M. (The pamphlet instructions are not clear to me.)

I would always shoot at the highest resolution ie 7mp and the highest quality ie least compression.
The higher the resolution the more you can crop away ( to better frame the subject or get rid of distracting elements ) and still have enough pixels left to get a decent print, plus you never know when you might capture an image you want to turn into a poster print ...
Memory is cheap, you can burn excess photos onto cds costing pennies and the cards themselves are pretty cheap these days too.

Sintares, hey, thank you :) I just now changed the setting to 7M. This is the whole reason why I bought the 2 gig Memory Stick.
