I am trying to use Quantaray MS-1 Slave Flash (triggered by on-board flash)with my FZ30, but whenever I try it, the pictures come out extremely dark. I have tried almost every setting, with no luck. I am sure that I am doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what.
I would appreciate any help on solving this problem.
Thanks

I'd suggest that you read the following review (http://www.steves-digicams.com/ms-1.html) at Steve's.
You'll find that your slave flash is not compatible with digital cameras that use a pre-flash to focus, set white balance, or whatever. :(

I had actually read the review and it prompted me to buy the slave units. I just did not realize that the FZ30 used the pre-flash technique, but if you watch carefully (from the side) you can actually see the pre-flash a fraction of a second before the main flash.
Thanks again for the insight.

Sorry. If the flash unit was purchased recently, maybe you could return it for a replacement unit that supports pre-flash.
Good luck.

I can not help but wonder why Ritz would have not told you or for that matter why Steve would not have warned that the flash will only work on very few digital cameras.
