HELP! Powershot A75 - Lights keep going

Hi, i was wondering if anyone could help me with my digital camera.
The problem is that every time i switch it on the light on the disply screen gradually fades and you cant see what photo you have took or are taking.

i was wondering if anyone could help me on fixing this problem please.

They said theirs was the backlite of the LCD. Have a read.
