I've been all over the Internet and I have seen a number of ideas of what the Canon Powershot Sx IS series of digital cameras' zoom noise should be while zooming during a video. The advertising and some Internet forum users say that it is 'silent' and some even say 'inaudible.' I just recently bought a S2 IS and I can clearly hear the zoom motor noise while recording a video.
I would please ask those users who have either a S2 IS or the S3 IS to please listen to these 2 sample videos I have recorded. Each is about 4MB, at QVGA@15fps with the 44.1k audio. I simply zoom in and out on a vase in my living room. The first is on the lowest microphone setting and the other is on the highest mic setting.
Can I please trouble you to listen to these videos and tell me if the noise from my camera is normal or if it is louder than your camera? Also, does your also record that 'R2-D2' type noise distortion?

Thanks!
