SD700 IS - anyone purchased batteries from ebay?

Looking for a spare battery on ebay for my SD700IS there is lots of them for low prices. Has anyone purchased any from ebay? are the batteries reliable? Can they damage camera? other comments?

You can buy this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16830994057) from New Egg for $20, and you'll have a reputable store and a place to complain to if something is wrong. How much are the batteries on eBay?

Here's another good online source - Battery Barn (http://www.batterybarn.com/nb5l.htm). They look like they have a slightly better deal.

Once i got an S200 off e-bay and it had no battery or charger i found a deal with 2 batteries and a charger. The charger was light weight like it was made of paper. I put one of the batteries on and the charger nuked the battery. It actualy over charged it and then it got so hot the pack melted and then wouldnt fit into the slot in the camera. Now i know why they gave an extra pack.

Im not sure if it was the battery or the pack but i kept an eye on the next battery after that, when it got warm i removed it.
