Can someone suggest a P&S that can capture RAW. I'm looking for something fairly small that I can carry around when a DSLR is too big. I really like the features of the G7 but it is JPEG only. I've also been looking at the Lumix DMC-LX2, but its reviews have been less than favorable. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Most of the models which feature RAW are in the "bridge camera" niche, designed as a dSLR alternative rather than a companion.

If you can snag a Canon S80 cheaply, that might be a good solution. Really hard to find, though. I'm not aware of much current that both has RA support and beats the Panasonic LX2 you mention.

You may want to wait and see if Sigma says anything more about their DP1 model at PMA -- looks intriguing.

Does the S80 handle raw? I was under the impression that it was one of the features taken out when they went from the S70 to the S80. I'll look into the DP1. I haven't heard of it before. Thanks.

Oh, my mistake, yes. So strike that too.

I believe that both the Canon G-6 and the Olympus SP-350 both featured RAW. The SP-350 is much smaller and sort of jacket pocket sized.
