After a number of years with the old SLR and then a basic point and shoot digital, it was time to upgrade. I spent a fair amount of time pouring over digital camera reviews and a vist to the local photo store narrowed down my choice.
It was only by chance that I came across this forum site. With the confidence and good feed back from the members in the Fuji forum my decision was confirmed to get the S6000.

I just started to experiment with the camera to-day and I think I'm getting the hang of it. I'm kind of on a crash course to figure it out as we leave for hoildays next week-end and I want to take the 6000.

Congrats on the new S6000fd! I've had mine for a little over a month and really enjoy it. So far I have found the easiest way to use it - in other words, to have it ready more most conditions - is to leave it in "P" mode and adjust ISO and EV as necessary.

If you are curious about photos at the hand of a relative photography novice, the smugmug link in my signature will take you to my small photo gallery. I have photos posted that were taken in a variety of lighting conditions, and you can also view the exif data to get an idea of the settings I used.

Post some pics when you can! :D

Congrats! You will have a great time with it and I hope to see your pics around here soon.

I feel like I've read 3 or 4 "Just got my s6x000!" posts...awesome! I am very glad that just our little discussion posts on this board are swaying people towards this wonderful cam.
