Hi guys,

Can anyone please suggest which camera should I go with? Panasonic DMC FZ 20 or Canon G6 or Sony DSC V3.

I want better indoor pictures without getting blurred, noise and/or red eye problem etc? And dont care much about movies clip recording, zoom or other features. Also please ignore the price difference of these cameras also. Thanks,

Kashif

I just (earlier today) wrote Jeff and asked him the exact same Q with the three cameras. If you go to Steves Digicams and look at the 20X30 samples of the G6, I think you will agree that the picture is considerably sharper. I can detect this even with my Dell monitor which probably has a lot less resolution than any of the cameras in question. Look at the red brick building sample. I think I have spent five hours today alone looking at the comparisons. It comes down to how important the 12X zoom is to you (and me). I just cant decide between the cameras. Take a look at the samples and tell me what you think. When looking at the sample, pay attention to the clarity of the Nicholson sign, the chimney on top of the bldg, and the little silver contraptions on top of the telephone pole.

KashifIf you don't care about zoom, the only thing the FZ20 brings to the table to make it unique is its faster lens (but only slightly faster than the G6 at full zoom, so not important; quite a bit faster than the Sony), and image stabilizer. With the I.S. system, you'll probably be able to take more indoor photos without flash, and thus without redeye. My experience with the FZ20 is that it doesn't have much of a redeye problem with flash. If you want a smaller camera, I'd go with the G6, if the larger camera size doesn't bother you (some consider it a plus), go with the FZ20.
