I just happened to visit the site again to see what was new in the world of digital cameras. I ended up reading the review for the S6000fd (somehow I missed hearing/reading about it), and I seriously think this is the camera for me. I've posted on here a few times before and I was intent at some point on saving up and purchasing a Nikon D50. But this S6000 just seems like the perfect camera for me without breaking the bank. However, I was curious. What is the maximum exposure length you would be able to do with it. For example, like one of those photos of the night sky taken over a short period. I'm guessing it probably can't do this, but I was just curious. Thanks!

Max exposure length is 30 seconds.
It is a great camera, and we're starting to get many fellow s6x00fd owners here on these boards and it's beginning to get interesting. Lots of great tips and check out our pics post.

Thanks, just wanted to check and make sure. Also, one more question, is it possible to leave a (UV) filter on and still be able to attach the lens cap? Maybe a stupid question but I just happened to think about that.

Not a stupid question friend.:)
I'm guessing 99.9% if UV filters would allow the attachment of the lens cap.
I've tried almost every brand and different lines within these brands- B+W, Hoya, Sunpak (yikes!), Quantaray, and the cap always snapped on just as securely without any problem whatsoever.
I'm glad you're almost sold on the camera. It really is a ludicrously great piece of kit for little $$$. The bang for your buck factor for this camera is just through the roof IMO. You'll have lots of fun I'm sure, andI look forward to seeing your pics.

I actually just pulled the trigger on one through Amazon. I signed up for that "Prime" trial and got free 2 day shipping. Should be here Wednesday! Now ordering a 1GB type H xd card from Newegg. Can't wait!! Thanks for your help, too.
